Hello friends and family! Yes, you've come to the right place to find out about Hannah and Jim's wedding.
Please see below for all the details regarding the events on Friday evening and Saturday's pub get-together.
The Westwood Room is on the first floor of the Museum. Museum staff at the main entrance will be happy to direct you.
There is a lift to the first floor as well as stairs. The main Museum entrance is up some steps, but there is an accessible entrance without steps on the right-hand side of the Museum as you face it.
If you've got an invitation to the ceremony, and you've never visted the museum, why not arrive early and spend some time looking around?
Join us for drinks and dinner after the ceremony. Please choose your menu options and let us know of any allergens or dietary restrictions in advance via the online RSVP form.
Don't forget the Museum closes to the public at 5pm. The doors won't re-open for access until 6:15pm. If you do arrive early, the nearby University Parks are a lovely place to while away a little time.
Join us for the party after the reception.
Come and have a drink and a dance among the dinosaurs.
We know our wedding is going to fly by on Friday evening, so we thought we would take another opportunity to catch up and enjoy your company.
Come and join us for an informal brunch. Casual dress.
The Oxford University of Natural History opened in 1860. It's extensive collection includes the world's first scientifically described dinosaur Megalosaurus bucklandii and the famous Oxford Dodo, the only soft tissue remains of the extinct dodo. The building is a fantasic example of Victorian neo-Gothic architecture, and its design and decoration are prime examples of the Pre-Raphaelite vision of science and art.
The Museum is open to the public daily between 10:00 and 17:00, and entrance is free. If you've not visited it before, we highly recommend it!
The Museum is opposite Keble College on Parks Road and close to the University Parks. It's just to the north side of the city centre. Its post code is OX1 3PW.
If you're not familiar with Oxford, don't even think about trying to drive there. There is only very limited and expensive short-term meter parking nearby, and parking options in the city generally are no better. Better to use one of the Park and Rides which offer short and long-term parking and buses into the city centre every 10 minutes. Pear Tree Park and Ride is the most convenient for the museum.
If you are coming to Oxford by train, it is a 20 minute walk from Oxford Station to the museum, or 7 minutes by taxi.
There is a wide choice of city centre hotels and guest houses, though if you are coming by car make sure to check parking availability; in many cases it is limited or non-existant.
Further out, there is a Travelodge and a Holiday Inn close to Pear Tree Park and Ride. Alternatively, the Leonardo Royal by Wolvercote Roundabout on the A40 has plenty of parking and easy bus access.
The Museum can order taxis for you from local firms.
On Saturday we've hosting a brunch from 11:15 onwards at the Abingdon Arms at Beckley. A community-owned pub in a Grade-II listed building overlooking Otmoor Nature Reserve. We'll be providing bacon/halloumi/mushroom baps/fresh fruit and tea and coffee. The pub will be more than happy to sell you beers, wines etc. or a more substantial lunch.
There may be a short outbreak of Morris from Cry Havoc. Consider yourselves forewarned.
If you've had to travel a long way, or if you couldn't join us at the Museum on Friday, or if you just fancy coming by, we'd love to see you there.
The Abingdon Arms is in the village of Beckley, just north of Oxford. Its post code is OX39UU.
The pub itself has limited parking. If coming by car, you'll need to find some nearby street parking.
As you can probably guess, we're more than adequately equipped domestically. For all the Bertie Woosters out there, we have all the fish slices we might ever need already.
But what we would like our guests to give us is either a recipe, a favourite paperback or a CD that means something to you. The original battered paperback for preference, but if you can't bear to part with it, a new copy is fine. Include a signature or a message, so we can think of you when we're enjoying them.
If you have any questions please drop us a line.
